Our new website is under development and will be launched soon!

For the Bundesamt für Immobilienaufgaben (BImA) @bundesimmobilien, together with BIOS ATELIER and Drees & Sommer, we are delighted to have received second prize for our proposal to transform the former US Army housing estate into a climate-resilient and future-ready neighbourhood. Building on retained footprints, orientations and landscape patterns, new L-shaped buildings and linear replacement blocks form an open comb-like structure with green courtyards, permeable paths and balanced density. Three high points create orientation and new addresses, embedded within a continuous landscape system linking Panzerwiese, the neighbourhood and surrounding parks. Preserved trees, new planting, green roofs and integrated water management establish a robust sponge-city approach that strengthens cooling, water retention and biodiversity. In the northern sub-area, a fully developed architectural scheme offers efficient building depths, a wide mix of dwellings and flexible layouts accessed via open galleries, alongside integrated mobility concepts and largely car-free open spaces. Low-carbon energy systems and high environmental standards support everyday life while delivering urgently needed affordable housing in Munich. The project comprises around 1500 homes, childcare facilities, local amenities and shared spaces, balancing continuity and transformation. We thank all team members for a wonderful and inspiring collaboration.

First Prize—Competition win Bildungscampus Hoffbauer Stiftung
Kleinmachnow, Germany

Our urban development concept, developed in collaboration with bächlemeid architekten stadtplaner bda, was selected in a competitive workshop process for the redesign of the Hoffbauer Foundation school campus south of Berlin. The proposal will serve as the basis for the preparation of the development plan. The workshop process took place between July and September 2025 and established the framework for the future development of the site.

The project expands the existing campus ensemble with a new sports hall constructed above the current one, 120 new residential units and a parking garage that also accommodates a new sustainable energy hub. A reimagined landscape forms the connective fabric of the campus, linking school, sport and housing while transforming the previously fragmented site into a coherent whole. At its centre, a new open-air auditorium becomes the social heart of the campus – a place for gathering, learning and community life.
